Georges purchased The Advocate newspaper in 2013 and became the publisher of the Louisiana daily paper. He is the chairman of Georges Enterprises and a commissioner of the New Orleans Public Belt Railroad. In 1992 he was appointed to the Board of Regents which supervises higher education in Louisiana.
